How many Extractors are in the system?
There are 6 Broken Screw and 6 Stripped Screw Extractors.

What size range do the Extractors cover?
Broken Extractors cover 2.0mm to 8.0mm; Stripped Extractors cover 2.0mm to 7.00mm.

What Type of Material is the Extractors made of?
400 Series Stainless Steel.

How long are the Extractors?
The Extractors are 6” long.

What type of Drive do the Extractors have?
The Extractors have a ¼ Hex Drive configuration.

What Material are Screws Made of?
Most Bone Screws are 316 Stainless Steel or Titanium.

What size Drill Bits are in the System?
There are 6 drill bits available ranging from Ø2mm to Ø7mm in 1mm increments.

What material are the Drill Bits made of?
The Drill Bits are made from Solid Carbide.

Will the Drill Bits work on Implants?
The Drill Bits are designed to work on Bone Screws to make the socket deeper or remove the head. We do not recommend using them on implants.

Are the Drill Bits “Single Use Only?”
Yes, the Drill Bits are Labeled “Single Use Only.”

How long is the Extension?
The Extension is 6” long.

What type of Drill Chuck is needed to use Screw V.2 under Power?
The driving end of the Extractor’s is a ¼” Hex Feature. Any Jacobs Style 3 jaw chuck will work. The system also had a Hudson Adapter (SAD001) included in the system.

Can I use the Extractors with a Hudson Drill Drive?
Yes, a Hudson Adapter is in the system enabling easy use with Hudson Drill Drives.

What type of Drive connection do the Drill bits utilize?
The drill bits are designed with a Hudson Style Drive.

What type of Drive connection does the Extension utilize?
The Extension (SXT001) utilizes a Hudson Style Drive.

What size K-Wire can be used?
No k-wire is necessary to use with our extractors.

Are the Extractors “Single Use Only”?
Yes, the Extractors are Labeled as “Single Use Only”. The threads become damaged after use and will not be as effective if reused.

Are larger sizes available?
Larger size Broken and Stripped Extractors are available up to 11mm upon request.

Can the Extractors be used under power?
Yes, the Extractors have a Hex Drive for Jacob Style chucks and a Hudson Adapter is available in the system.

How do I know which size Extractor to use?
For Broken Screws, choose an Extractor slightly larger than the diameter of the screw. For Stripped Screws, choose an Extractor that fits into the screw socket without bottoming out in the socket.

The Stripped Screw Extractor is not engaging the screw, what do I do?
Option 1:  Use the next bigger Stripped Screw Extractor.
Option 2: Use a Drill Bit to make the Socket diameter larger/deeper.
Option 3: Use a large Drill Bit to remove the head of the screw, then use a Broken Screw Extractor.
Option 4: Use a Broken Screw Extractor to engage the screw head.
